FILM LIST: WORKING MY WAY THOUGH "1001 MOVIES YOU MUST SEE BEFORE YOU DIE"
FILM LIST: WORKING MY WAY THOUGH "1001 MOVIES YOU MUST SEE BEFORE YOU DIE"
I’m a huge film fan with an eclectic taste, and sometimes I just don’t know what to watch so I’m slowly working my way through "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die"; a film reference book edited by Steven Jay Schneider.
My version of the book is an older version than you can buy now so my films are very likely different from the version you might have but I’m sticking with the original book I started with and aim to complete all the films as quickly as I can. I’ve seen a lot already as you might be able to tell from the picture; I stick a tag on every page where I’ve watched a film – but I’ve still got a lot to go though so if you want to follow along or want to discuss any films on the list I’d be happy to have a chat about them.
Please note that the ongoing film list on the blog is a little behind the films that I’m currently watching. It’s only because I don’t want the blog to be purely a film blog and on some days I watch more than one film and don’t want to bombard everyone with all of them at once so I’m actually ahead in my actual watching versus my blog posts (by about a hundred films!). What can I say I love watching films and especially now we’re in lock down I’m watching even more.
I’m also completing the AFI top 100 films; this list also has a great podcast attached to it called Unspooled hosted by Paul Scheer and Amy Nicholson. They look at a different film on the list every week. Many of these films overlap with the "1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die" so it’s a nice companion and you get to learn loads more about the film you’ve just watched; as you might have gathered from my film posts I love the trivia and stories behind the films.
