INSPIRATION: INTERIORS: A LIVING ART INSTALLATION
A gallery come museum come residence, this space has everything. Created by San Francisco–based artist Danielle Mourning this ever changing space is now viewable by the public. It’s got some over-the-top design but it’seasy to scale down some of these ideas and give inspiration to pieces in your own home such as;
Broken mirrors, or broken pieces used in artistic ways, you could scale this down by just creating something in a frame rather than using a whole wall but it’s very effective.
Layers of photos, or images or wallpaper.
Tassels, in any form they add a bit of drama or luxury. This image of the pink tassels dividing the door is the image that drew me into this space.
Bringing nature indoors.
You don’t have the decorate the whole wall with feathers, just one or two will do, if there big feathers you could put them in a vase or smaller ones in a glass.
I’m sure if you’re anything like me you’d love to have the space for a hammock inside.
Dramatic dark, image filled wall paper.
Fur coats (faux I’m sure) on the back of chairs in the dining room, well that’s a very unique idea if ever I saw one!
Circle based art (I love circles and curves, check out the post here…)
Is that a crystal light? What a great idea!
Gold stairs!
Wallpaper that looks like paint
