INSPIRATION: INTERIORS: MAXIMALISM

I got a bit carried away with this interior trend which fits in with the maximalist theme nicely I think. Maximalism is a celebration of the excesses of interior decorating, the mixing of prints, the filling of empty spaces, the cluttering of surfaces, the quirky, the patterns, the kitsch and over indulgence.

Why have a picture on the wall when you can have 20? Why have a lamp shade when you can have a lampshade shaped like a giraffe. In this post I’ve created a visual mood board which collects together a range of different takes on the maximalist trend. More is more but there certainly are some styles that might be easier to live with than others or more suited to your space. Or you can take a bit of inspiration and just go crazy in one corner of your house.
