JUST FINISHED WATCHING: BABY REINDEER (2024)

The story follows the writer and performer Richard Gadd's warped relationship with his female stalker and the impact it has on him as he is ultimately forced to face a deep, dark buried trauma.

Before becoming a Netflix show, Richard Gadd toured Baby Reindeer as a one-man show at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and London's West End.

MY VERDICT: I really liked this show, however, liked maybe isn’t the right word for something this dark? I was sucked in immediately and intrigued as to how the story came to be and how it would pan out, made all the more interesting by the fact that it’s a true story. I would definitely recommend but be prepared to see some hard to watch situations the characters get themselves into. Overall the most enduring quality of this show is its honesty, an amount of honesty I’m not sure I’ve ever seen on the screen before and I think that’s what makes this story so special.
