FOCUS ON: RATTAN, CANE, BAMBOO & WICKER
Along with earth tones and pampas grass, two of my recent blog posts on interior trends, another way to bring nature into your home is by using natural materials, fibres and textures. Rattan, cane, bamboo and wicker, once relegated to the outside and conservatory spaces have been embraced in recent times and given pride of place in all rooms of the home.
You can embrace this trend on a large or small scale, some of my favourite uses of these materials are found in this post and include:
Wardrobe doors - these hide things away to make them tidier but with the little holes in the weaves gives the impression of light and that you’re not ashamed of the things inside
Wicker baby cots and weaved Moses baskets
Weaved bamboo
French cafe style seating - (you can also find similar ideas here…)
Extravagant bamboo beds
The mix of dark wood and light rattan or wicker
Weaved bags
Room dividers - these separate rooms into sections but still let a little light through
Painted wicker - why has no one thought of this before?
